August 1st, 2023, was the perfect day for the Houston Astros. The team traded to get back Justin Verlander, and to top it off, Framber Valdez threw a no-hitter against the Cleveland Guardians.

Valdez is the first left-handed pitcher in Astros franchise history to complete a no-no out of 16 total Astros pitchers, and Framber’s performance was the fifth since 2019 alone.

Framber is no stranger to outstanding numbers and performances. Since entering the league in August 2018, he has posted a 49-30 and an ERA of 3.36.

Framber, who is still extremely early in his career and has two years of team control after this season, has shown that he is going nowhere as long as the ‘Stros keep performing.

He threw under 100 pitches in his no-hit performance, making it a “Maddux”- a shutout with fewer than 100 pitches–and a no-no, too. That’s just incredible.

Valdez walked one batter the entire game, making it a memorable performance in baseball history. Framber’s talent seems to be going nowhere, and this performance has etched him into baseball immortality.
